Yoga

Yoga is an ancient art based on an extremely subtle science, that of the body, mind and soul.

Many people are drawn to yoga initially seeking relief for a specific complaint and often as a means to relax and de-stress. The strain of modern life can lead to mental suffering, feelings of inadequacy, isolation and powerlessness which can manifest as physical pain and illness. It is not the situation that causes stress ie. traffic, relationships, kids or job, it is our perception of certain events and our reaction to them. When we learn to make the internal shift and live from a deeper and more peaceful place, we awaken to our true nature and the whole world opens up.

The primary aim of yoga is to restore the mind to simplicity and peace and gently rejuvenate the body.

Yoga as a practice, is a connection to the present moment which is constantly moving. The breath is the golden thread, integrating the mental and physical, bringing about a sense of inner and outer balance.

Yoga means union and as an experience, it is union with our higher self, the soul.
The practise of yoga, will in time if practised properly, enhance the connection between body, mind and soul. Peace and happiness is not a by-product of our external environment but must come from within. By stilling our own storms of experience we find peace and tranquility, loving relationships with others and all that we truly are.
Yoga is for everyone.
